Taking Care of your Hermit Crab can be hard. Lucky for you here is a list of “just” the essentials.
- 20 Gallon Tank and glass Lid
- Two water pools (one is fresh water and the other is salt water)
- The substrate needs to be at least 6 inches (play sand and eco earth)
- Primer for water
- Ocean Salt
- More than one hermit crab (They are social animals)
- Lighting (they need a day and night cycle
- Plastic or glass lid
- Heating Pad (Placed on back of tank do not put under the tank)
- Food Bowl
- Plants & Decorations (They need to have places to hide and climb, they are prey animals so having an abundance can make them feel safe)
- Extra natural shells (No painted shells as they are growing, they bite off pieces of the shell and can be harmful)
- Shell Shop (a place to keep the shells so there’s not a lot of dirt or sand on them)
- Scavenged items
